Rebekah Jackson is a vibrant young artist launching into a commercial art-making career in 2020. 

Rebekah was born into a life of colour saturated artistic expression - nurtured and raised wandering through the art rooms of her grandmother Kay (Lleywla) Calov, her mother Kate Stanley and her Auntie Catherine Stanley. In her early artistic career , Rebekah integrated her creative expression alongside her practice as a Registered Nurse, specialized in the care of Children and young mothers. Her passion to work alongside mothers and children extends into her current artistic practice which exude a beautiful sense of play; alongside celebrating the resplendent spectacular of women.

Rebekah transitioned to a full time artistic pursuit in 2022. Her stunning bushland studio is located on the rural-urban fringe of Sydney in Galston. She shares her space, studio time and heart with her precious husband, and 2 young children.

Rebekah is an emerging Australian Figurative Artist. Painting & Drawing, she works predominately with acrylic and oil mediums,  on paper and canvas.  

Each piece is the culmination of multilayered surface preparation, colour and linework to create a rich stage for her forms. Rebekah’s intention of creating playful, warm and uplifting pieces make them a welcome addition to many homes with a wide collector audience. Rebekah’s work is a celebration of the power, resilience and spectacular of women.

Rebekah’s work is characterized by vibrant colour overlays, highly detailed brushwork and a complexity which encourages the viewer to rest in the artwork, connecting with the subject. Rebekah’s artistic process is deeply intuitive, often guided by her own introspection and observations of the world around her.

Her evocative compositions masterfully blend realism with a touch of surrealism. Her work emotively invites the viewer to reflect on the deep, rich and vibrant textural interplay between light and dark that contribute to the captivating beauty of the woman. Her mark making is driven by deep empathy and connection to the female experience, portraying women in moments of introspection, grounding, and rising within.
